Our Virgin Voyages Cruise - Part Three: Costa Maya

Out first port day was Costa Maya. We had brunch at The Wake at 8:45 am and walked off the ship around 9:30 am. This worked great because the rush to get off was over.

We enjoyed dinner at The Wake on embarkation day so I was excited to try brunch. Service was quick and efficient. B ordered the eggs benedict which was slightly overcooked. I started with the Fennel & Citrus Salad and also had the Brioche French Toast with caramelized bananas. The salad was excellent but the french toast had very little flavor (I liked the french toast from The Galley much better). We both felt the menu was very limited and we would have liked more variety.

After Brunch, we went back to our stateroom, put sunscreen on, and grabbed my day bag. Getting off the ship was quick and easy.

It was about a 10-minute walk along the dock to get to Costa May where there is shopping, restaurants, and a saltwater pool.

My first stop was the Starbucks for a large Iced Tea! We walked in and out of the shops and then spent an hour or so by the pool.

Lunch was back on the ship at The Galley. Then we took advantage of a mostly empty ship and relaxed at The Dock and along Deck 7. It was a gorgeous day to enjoy the sea breezes on the deck.

Bob played a few games in the arcade while I walked around taking pictures.

Extra Virgin was suggested for dinner and I love Italian food so I was excited to give it a try. We started with the Affettati Misti which was delicious. I had the Bucatini Carbonara and enjoyed it. My husband had a steak which was good. My Olive Oil Chocolate cake was excellent. We will definitely be back to Extra Virgin on our next cruise.

After dinner, we took our normal walk around the deck.

A fun morning in Costa Maya and a chill afternoon on the ship with a yummy dinner.
